i think they will have to wait till the end of the quarter to assign that quota, how would they know about the number of the prospective applicant ahead of time? They first have to make sure that "current" status people should get a visa number. Not a fact i like, but thats the way it is...
But at the same time EB2 will get spillover from EB1 and EB2 ROW, so its expected that EB2 I will move forward. But how much that spillover is gonna be? Any data?

actually people are already complacent ..eb2 is in joy and waiting impatiently, eb3 people have given up hope and there is not much news from core. people may not like my post but that is the fact

You mean notice date? If your application is physically reached NSC on June 15th your receipt date should be around it. It makes sense for notice date getting delayed. However, your processing would be done based on RD only.
This would suck for older priority dates.
My priority date is March, 2002!! Application was delivered to Nebraska on June 15th but the Receipt date is in mid-July.
So all those filers with priority dates after me (did not come across any with PD older than mine) that got their receipt notices before me would jump ahead in line!! Who knows how many years more...
Hopefully they will change their procedure after this fiasco to go by Priority Dates first and then the receipt dates.

My case was completed at the NVC last year, this was when there were still schedule A visas. Then retro came in Nov. In June 2007, NVC asked to re submit ds230. Why did they ask to resubmit it if we weren't assigned a visa number yet? and now that there are no visas left for CP, our file gets stuck again, and when our PD becomes current, do we have to resubmit for the 3rd time our ds230.... So confusing......

There are 2 options in my opinion.
1. Secure an appointment with the local ASC and have them expedite this case if you want to travel early. They may require some supporting documents. The appointment can be made via Infopass at http://infopass.uscis.gov/index.php
2. Call USCIS at the number on your receipt notice. Select a series of numbers as per the prompts to talk to a Service Rep. Tell them your urgency to travel and they will expedite your case. It will take 5 business days from the date the request gets expedited to get a response back from USCIS.

SO IF they move PD's to 2006 dec then there is aposibility that all 2006 pd 's get GC's before @001 pd's.:mad:

what I understood is Aytes is talking about the sweep USCIS is conducting as soon as the VB released. The sweep was mentioned by a lot of service center personnel when members were calling for case status

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

I need something which removes employer dependency with approved i140 until u file 485.
I hate working at the same employer just becasue my PD is not current. And by the time my PD becomes current, may be employer is not doing good, I am not happy at the job.... and I have to start from PERM again at new employer. Also if employer revokes i140, I loose the PD as well!!

I keep hearing that DOL has allocated more resources to entering data. Does it really take so much effort to perform data entry. One of our customer is a large multinational company that has hired a few interns to convert huge stacks of paper files into electronic format by manually entering data into the system. These paper files go back decades, and these 5-6 interns have been making great progress.
In contrast, how long does it take to enter 300K cases into the system? Besides, if they have hired about 100 additional people or so, why are they using case reviewers to enter data? Can't they use interns to perform such low-skill job while continuing to use reviewers to perform their primary task?
My company recently interviewed a fresh computer science college graduate who is working with DOL in entering data. I wish we had hired him so that I could talk to him more about his job duties there.
