I filed for EAD (new application) 30 days back along with my AOS applications. Finished my FP on the 25th day.
Normally How long it take to get EAD from Texas Service center. ??
Any idea. ??
Now a days EAD is coming pretty quick. Some one got within a week. So it depends any where between 30 to 90 days.

My local congressman got this reply from USCIS on my AP renewal case. Its been over 90 days and pending? Please help with any advice.

The processing of this case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that this case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into the applicant background remains open.
Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on this case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit they are seeking. Valid AP is enough to travel - no one should care about your EAD if you are entering based on your AP. Ofcourse, always carry a copy of the I-485 and your wife can say that you are the primary applicant if they ask for her work status, etc...
Traveling with an AP (w/o EAD) should not be an issue. Good luck!

if your used to the easy layout of cinema 3d (like me) then stick to it cause its alot easyer to use that 3d studio max then when you get more used to 3d design then you should maybe choose to start using 3d studio max.
but thats only my opinion.

The I-131 Form update date shown by NSC is 10/18, whereas many of the folks are still awaiting their AP's...and even Texas says I-131 processing date current....So how come majority of them still waiting for AP ??

Hello, I apologyze for not giving my name away first of all, secondly I need to know what my options are if my father and mother who are permanent residents in the USA can file an I-130 for me? They obtained their legal status thru the department of labor but at the time they were approved I was already 21 years of age (the whole process started in 2000and lasted for 5 years or so); one lawyer told me that I cannot do anything since I was over 21 but I just have been in a different lawyer who told me that yes I can adjust my status thank to a grandfather law that can help me to achieve my goal in working legally in this country. I am an unmarried daughter and 27 years of age at this time.
I just don't want to spend those $5,500 can this lawyer is asking me for his services, I appreciate very much your replies and my family will too

My wife has a valid H4 visa and she's currently in India as her company is applying for a fresh H1B visa for her. I'm currently in US on valid H1B visa till 7-Dec-2011.(Her H4 will also expire on the same date)
Qs: After getting the recipt for H1B application, can she travel on her H4 visa or does she have to wait till the approval\rejection of H1B?
Please note that this is not a case of H4 to H1 transfer.

The couple applied for the green card together. The husband applied under the EB1 category and his wife also applied with him as dependent. The green card of the couple has been approved and is expected to arrive in a month's time. The wife is not in US currently. She is outside US. Will the husband get his green card & the wife's green card in his wife's absence? Will there be any complications in the husband's green card in this case?

Guys, applied recently for EAD and its pending and 180 days has not passed. I am planning to open a part time business. Does anyone know if its ok to start a part time business before the EAD gets approved ? Any insights will be appreciated.

If you draw salary as an employee of the business, it is a problem. Consult an immigration attorney. You cannot take up any work other than what is approved as part of your H1-B.

Please report your employer to DOL for discriminatory pay practice, if you think the pay difference is solely 'cause of your immigration status.
And yes, you can change your job when you want through AC 21.. please browse the forum for AC21 process...good luck!

I have a approved I-140 with company A. It is a substitute labor.
I am getting laid off end of the month and I have a new offer from company B.
Can I port priority date of this I-140 to new company B? Does porting work for substitute labor also?

...... Upon receipt of your request for expeditious handling, your case was reviewed and a determination was made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request. Please fax a letter from your employer to the following number XXX-XXX-XXXX. Please include this notice with your fax......
Do I have to send employment verification letter or something else?
Background:
Company A sponsored my GC (I was on H1B with them). Last year I joined Company B on EAD. But my previous employer told me that they will not revoke my I-140. So why USCIS is asking for letter from Employer.
